Violin & Viola Lessons with Julia M.

Julia M. is a violist, violinist, and private teacher from Belmont, Massachusetts. An experienced orchestral musician, Julia has held positions as second solo viola with the Opera Orchestre Nationale de Montpellier in France, principal viola with the Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau in Germany, Academist with the Kammerakademie Potsdam in Germany, and section viola for the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. Julia studied with former Berlin Philharmonic principal viola Wilfried Strehle at the Universität der Künste Berlin, Misha Amory at The Juilliard School, and Rictor Noren while studying at Tufts University. Before pursuing music professionally, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Tufts University with a major in Biopsychology. Outside of her professional life, Julia enjoys cooking, making art, and spending time with her french bulldog, Rumba.
