Esther Benjamin, Cello
Esther Benjamin is an experienced cellist, pianist, vocalist, and instructor. Originally from London, England, she grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, finished her undergraduate studies in music and mathematics, and moved to Boston in 2018 to pursue a Master of Music in Cello Performance.
Ms. Benjamin has been fortunate enough to have had numerous opportunities to share her musical talents in a variety of capacities, including a sold-out Carnegie hall debut in 2015, collaboration with opera star Kathleen Battle, recording opportunities with both ABC and NBC television stations, among many others.
Ms. Benjamin started teaching in 2016, both as a teachers’ assistant at Oakwood University, but also at Valley Conservatory, one of the leading music schools in the Tennessee Valley. There, her students were comprised of largely piano and cello students, and she also had voice students as well.
She has won numerous awards, some of which include being nominated for Who’s Who Among America’s Colleges and Universities 2017, departmental awards from both the music and math departments at Oakwood University, winner of the Huntsville Music Study Club in 2014, and winner of the Omega Psi Phi Inc. talent hunt on local and regional levels for three consecutive years.
It is Ms. Benjamin’s hope to ultimately become a professor of music, because she finds tremendous fulfilment in helping students refine their craft in an exciting and wholistic way.
