Violin Lessons with Gaby E.
Violinist Gaby E. is a senior at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), double majoring in Music Performance and Media Studies. At UMBC, she studies under Dr. Airi Yoshioka. She was the concertmaster of the UMBC Orchestra in 2021-2023 and performed the third movement of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with the orchestra after winning the Concerto Competition in Spring 2022. Outside of UMBC, Gaby has attended music programs like the Mostly Modern Festival in New York and the Lake City Violin Intensive in Colorado. In Spring 2023, she participated in an exchange program and studied at the Conservatorio G. Nicolini in Italy, where she also performed at the Trame Sonore Chamber Music Festival. With over five years of teaching experience, Gaby has taught violin privately, at the Community College of Baltimore County, and at the Center of Help in Annapolis. Her teaching style utilizes self-evaluation as a tool to foster independence in her students and create a more interactive learning experience, as she guides her students in assessing their playing and applying their knowledge. She is particularly dedicated to cultivating a growth mindset in her students, encouraging them to view challenges as opportunities for improvement.
