Piano & Violin Lessons with Eddie S.

Eddie S. is a composer, baritone, and educator based in Baltimore. Known for his uniquely enchanting and enriching harmonic structures, Eddie draws musical influences from the human experience and the world around us - creating soundscapes that reflect the qualities of the environment and world we create within ourselves.

Eddie enjoys writing for a wide range of instruments and genres, with a particular enjoyment for text setting. In 2022 he was one of the composers selected for Art Song Lab in Vancouver, B.C. where he was paired with a poet to create a new work. He also was the winner of the Fredonia Composition Competition in 2022, where his new work “Dystopia” was premiered by violinist Jessica Tong.

Eddie also is a performing vocalist with a fancy for new vocal music, including his own original compositions. Eddie is currently a choral scholar at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Baltimore and has sung in masterclasses for singers like Anthony Turner and Sandra Piques Eddy.

Eddie received his M.M. in Music Composition from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he studied composition under Sky Macklay and voice under Tony Arnold. He also received his B.M. in composition from the State University of New York at Fredonia, where he studied under Jamie Leigh Sampson, Andrew Martin Smith, and Paul Coleman. He also studied voice under Joe Dan Harper.
