Piano Lessons with Leonardo H.

Leonardo H. is an active Central Texas-based composer, double bassist, and pianist dedicated to fostering artistic growth and musical confidence in students of all skill levels. With years of experience teaching both private and group lessons, he offers comprehensive piano instruction designed to help students discover their unique musical voice.

Leonardo holds a Bachelor of Music degree with distinction in Music Composition from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he studied piano under Dorothy Halstead and Dr. Ivan Hurd, served as principal double bassist for the UTSA Symphony Orchestra, and held leadership roles in the UTSA Music Theory Club. His background spans classical, orchestral, chamber, jazz, and contemporary genres—an expansive range of experience that directly informs his flexible, student-centered approach to teaching.

His pedagogical experience includes teaching at recognized institutions such as the Musical Arts Center of San Antonio (MACSA) and the San Antonio Music Academy (SAMA), alongside maintaining a private studio.

Leonardo tailors his curriculum to match individual goals, whether a student is a beginner playing their first notes, an intermediate pianist learning to read music smoothly, or an advanced pre-college musician preparing for auditions and ensemble performances.
