Maria Kowalski, Violin

Maria Kowalski is a violinist and violist based in Brooklyn, NY. Born into a musical family, Maria’s great-grandfather made violins and her mother is a violin teacher. After earning a degree in violin performance from Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, she spent 5 years playing fiddle in Nashville, TN. Maria has performed and/or recorded with Gillian Welch, Dolly Parton, Wyclef Jean, Mark O’Connor, and more. She is a faculty member of Berklee Latino and has taught for the U.S. Department of State’s “American Music Abroad” program.
