Dominic DeStefano, Violin & Viola
Dominic DeStefano has been teaching violin and viola for 15 years and his students have been members of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, Cincinnati Starling Project, and have continued their studies as music majors. Comfortable with a variety of teaching styles, Dominic has been honored with a teaching award from the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Dominic earned the Doctor of Musical Arts in viola in 2010 and has also taught at the University of Cincinnati and University of Louisville.
Dominic also performed as Artist in Residence at the Bay View Music Festival in Bay View, MI, and is an active performer across the country. Recent recital performances include appearances at the University of Illinois, University of Tennessee, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sol in Brazil and the University of Queensland in Australia. He was named a viola fellow of the Lucerne Festival Academy in Switzerland and a teaching fellow of the Aspen Music Festival and School. He has been featured at the International Viola Congress, the American String Teachers Association National Conference and in England’sThe Strad magazine.
