Meghan Pierson, Piano
Meghan Pierson discovered her gift of music at an early age through her church, which included many summers at music camps where she excelled in piano, horn and voice. She then pursued a career in music education, receiving Bachelor’s degree from North Central College and a Master's degree from Kent State University. After graduation Meghan taught choral and general music in the public schools for ten years. During this time her performing groups received top ratings at regional and state level competitions. Meghan has had a private piano studio for 14 years and enjoys teaching students of all ages.
Meghan spent 4 years as the Music Education, Ministry and Curriculum Specialist for the The Salvation Army Central Territory’s Music & Gospel Arts Department. In this capacity she was in demand as clinician, conductor and music instructor. She also served as accompanist in the Chicago Staff Band, a premiere brass ensemble who has performed throughout the United States and around the world. Missing the daily interaction with children, Meghan decided to go back to teaching and is currently teaching elementary music in school district U-46.
Meghan serves as a church pianist in suburban Chicago, where she lives with her husband, Mark, and daughter, Morgan.
