Shaun Flynn, Piano
Shaun Flynn is a clarinetist, pianist, and music teacher in the Chicago area. He is the principle clarinetist of the Chicago Composers Orchestra, an ensemble that champions new music. Chicago Classical Review has praised Shaun as playing "superbly" with the CCO. As a supporter of new music, Shaun regularly performs works by composers active in the Chicago area and around the world.
Shaun is highly sought after for private lessons on both clarinet and piano for students of all ages. He enjoys working with many students through lessons, classes, auditions and productions. He has taught for Piano Lessons In Your Home, Metropolis School of the Performing Arts in Arlington Heights, and City Strings and Piano.
Shaun earned his Masters Degree in Orchestral Studies at the Chicago College of Performing Arts where he studied with John Yeh of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. At Susquehanna University he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance studying clarinet with Deborah Andrus, a student of Elsa Ludewig Verdehr, and piano with Galen Deibler, a student of Leon Fleisher. He also pursued extensive training in music education and is proud to be a Steinway Educational Partner.
