Yi-Ting Hsieh, Piano
Pianist and Clarinetist Yi-Ting Hsieh is a native of Taiwan and has performed solo, orchestral, and chamber works in addition to accompanying singers and instrumentalists. From 2010 to 2014, Yi-Ting has placed in a variety of clarinet competitions, including 1st place in the Taiwanese National Student Competition of Music and 3rd place in the Young Artist Music Competition of Taiwan. She also played as a collaborative pianist for a number of college music competitions in Taiwan. She has performed in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Florent Heau, John Scott, Nathan Williams, and Paul Meyer. Yi-Ting earned her Bachelor of Music in Clarinet and Piano Performance from the National Taichung University of Education in Taiwan in 2014. In 2016, Ms. Hsieh she received her Master of Music degree in from Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She also studied chamber music with Seth Knopp, Michael Kannen, and Benjamin Pasternack at Peabody Conservatory.
Yi-Ting is a passionate teacher and dedicated musician currently freelancing in the greater Boston area with various chamber groups and orchestras. Since 2012, she has been a piano and clarinet teacher in Taiwan and America, an she is currently teaching piano and clarinet throughout Boston. Her favorite thing about teaching is being able to work with all sorts of people, especially with children!
